What Is a Roti-Shot Subscription? (Shipping Included)
Our Roti-Shot subscription is ideal if you would like a fresh pouch of live concentrated rotifers delivered to you weekly to feed your aquarium.
Automatically each week for the number of months you subscribe, we will send you either a single or double Roti-Shot for feeding your marine aquarium. For example 1 single month supply = 4 Roti-Shots which are posted to you @ 1 Roti-Shot per week. Shipping is included in the prices and delivery will be every Wednesday or Thursday to the address of your choice.
Roti-Shots are live enriched rotifers sealed in a 50ml quick feed pouch. Each pouch has a population density of 100 to 300 rotifers per ml of water, thats approx 10000 rotifers per pouch.
We enrich our rotifer before dispatch which means you receive phospholipids-rich rotifers to feed your corals or larve. Roti-Shots can be used as a single quick feed which are nutritious for your live corals or even clown fish fry, just cut the top off the bag and feed directly to your aquarium or use our rotifer sieve available here.
These pouches are ideal as they can be posted easily through your letter box if your not home. If you require a larger volume of rotifers then take a look at our live rotifer bottles. Roti-Shots can also be frozen on the day of delivery for up to 12 months and then added as a frozen food block to your aquarium to feed another day. (Rotifers will be dead when thawed but the nutritional value will still be intact as our rotifers are highly enriched before dispatch)
How do i store my Roti-Shots?
Place your pouch or pouches in the fridge and use within 3 days of delivery.
What Are Live Rotifers?
Live Rotifers (Brachionus plicatilis) are very tiny animals measuring between 150-360 micrometers. Rotifers are often raised as food for live corals and fish larvae. They are the ideal starter food for species of fish such as clownfish fry which have tiny larvae with very, very tiny mouths.
Who Should Use Live Rotifers?
Almost any marine aquarium will benefit from the addition of rotifers, Their size and excellent nutritional value (50% to 65% protein) make them the perfect live food for all (freshwater and marine) fry, anemones, sponges etc.
What Does Enriching Mean?
Enriching means feeding a premium food that contains fatty acids (especially ARA, EPA and DHA), carbohydrates, proteins, and vitamins. 12-24 hours before our rotifers are dispatched we enrich them, this process is also known as “gut loading”.
When our rotifers are enriched with the desired feed, this does not only fill the gut but the enrichment feed is gradually incorporated into the rotifer tissues.
